Craig Barbieri - Committee Member

Craig Barbieri recently joined Pennoni Associates Inc. as national Design Technology Manager to drive the use of technologies to enhance the practice of design and engineering. Previously of KlingStubbins, he identified, directed and implemented BIM and “best practice” technologies that enhanced the firm’s capabilities. With 15 years of experience with BIM in practice, management, and leadership he has managed some substantial advancements in the use of design technology, as well as the cultural and process related changes that followed the adoption of BIM. Craig has broad insight into the challenges AEC firms face. He has played a key role on the success of some of the largest BIMs ever created. He is an advocate for maximizing the potential of current and new technologies on projects and monitors the effective use of the benefits BIM provides. He shares his experience online through his iRevit.com and Technology4Archtiects blogs and is active as an organizing committee member of the RTC Design Technology Summit.

Craig most recently spoke at the BIM Perspectives Seminar in Philadelphia and was a moderator at the first RTC Design Technology Summit in Vancouver, BC this year. He previously spoke on BIM at the 2008 Autodesk conference, the AIA National convention in San Francisco in 2009, the IES Lighting convention in 2010, and the Collaborate Conference in Philadelphia in 2011.

Craig holds a Masters of Architecture and Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Business from the University of California. He is an Associate member of the AIA, and can be found online through Google.






Wesley Benn - Executive Committee Member

A Sydney-based architect, Wesley is the founder of RTC Events Management and the Revit Technology Conference series. As a longterm user and advocate of BIM, Wesley has been speaking and teaching in the field since starting to play with a pre-release version of Revit. 

 Wesley has worked directly with Autodesk on Revit development and implementation, built content for manufacturers and end-users, and has implemented multiple BIM tools into well over 300 practices throughout South-East Asia. He is a regular speaker at events throughout Australia and overseas talking about technology, Integrated Practice, and facilities management; he founded (and chaired for 5 years) the Revit User Group, Sydney; and teaches design, BIM, and architectural technologies at the University of New South Wales, in Sydney, Australia.

  Robert Manna - Committee Member

Robert is the current chairman for DTS, his day job is working for Stantec in the Boston office, he has been a key team member on multiple projects, and he now serves as the BIM R&D leader for the firm as well as providing business consulting services for clients implementing BIM. He provides high level support, planning and implementation of new tools and management of custom software development for Revit. He has spoken at: RTC NA, Autodesk University, has been a guest lecturer at the BAC, and has presented at BIM events hosted by the AIA, ACEC, Autodesk and resellers. He has written two articles about Revit for the AUGI AEC Edge magazine, and has written assessment questions for KnowledgeSmart. He can occasionally be found on Twitter (rpiboy) and in his free time he enjoys swimming, skiing and biking with his wife and three year old daughter.

Lee Miller is a Vice President and the Director of BIM Services for HOK. He has nearly 18 years of experience in the AEC industry and has supported a wide variety of projects, including commercial, health care, interiors, aviation, justice, and urban design. Lee works very closely with the BIM Managers and project teams to implement HOK’s standards and process to projects.

He also provides support for BIM Managers and BIM Coordinators, assisting in the organization of the project data, developing custom procedures, and customizing the software to make the most efficient use of their technology for project work. He is also responsible for producing firmwide standards and guidelines that conform to HOK’s culture as well as emerging best practices.

David Spehar, AIA - Committee Member

David is a licensed architect with over 20 years of experience on a wide range of architectural projects.  He has been a Revit user and BIM advocate since 2003 and is a Revit Architecture Certified Professional.  David is currently Stantec’s Corporate BIM Leader overseeing the firm-wide practice integration of BIM through training and education, development of best practices, project management support, multi-discipline BIM collaboration, and performance based design integration.  He is a leader in helping Stantec transition from a document based design process to an intelligent model based design process.

David has a strong background in architectural project management and project BIM management. His strengths include client interface, BIM planning, project cost control, overall project coordination, and schedule management. Throughout his career he has been responsible for a range of responsibilities from complete project design, documentation and management of smaller projects, to project management and coordination of large, complex projects.

Clay serves as the Design Technology Leader for RTKL and is responsible for managing the training, implementation, and support for all aspects of RTKL's use of design technology; whether BIM, Parametric Design, Integrated Delivery, Energy Analysis, or Collaboration. He has contributed to more than 150 BIM projects of all sizes & types and trained over 600 employees globally.






Robert Yori - Small Group Leader- Management

Robert Yori is a Senior Digital Design Manager at the New York office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. He co-manages the office’s Digital Design research and implementation efforts, designs and maintains learning curricula and content, trains project teams, advises and mentors in BIM and other design technology matters,  and co-leads SOM's Firmwide BIM & Digital Design initiatives.

In addition, Robert develops BIM curricula for and teaches at New York University and the New York School of Interior Design, and has presented at Autodesk University, ACADIA, RTC, and BIMForum.  His work has also been published in the Journal of Building Information Modeling.

Robert received both his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
