Wesley Benn - Chairman
RTC Events Management / University of New South Wales

A Sydney-based architect, Wesley is the founder of RTC Events 
Management and the Revit Technology Conference series. As a longterm
user and advocate of BIM, Wesley has been speaking and teaching in the field since starting to play with a pre-release version of Revit.

Wesley has worked directly with Autodesk on Revit development and implementation, built content for manufacturers and end-users, and has implemented multiple BIM tools into well over 300 practices throughout South-East Asia.

Wesley is a regular speaker at events throughout Australia and overseas talking about technology, Integrated Practice, and facilities management; he founded (and chaired for 5 years) the Revit User Group, Sydney; and teaches design, BIM, and architectural technologies at the University of New South Wales, in Sydney, Australia.






Chris Needham - Executive Committee

Chris has recently joined AECOM as their lead Project Information Manager, responsible for how information is managed across multiple business lines within the business. Prior to that, he was the owner of C3 Consulting Solutions, implementing BIM processes and practices within AEC companies since 2005. He has assisted firms in organizational change efforts, systems analysis and design, training programmes and project delivery. Chris’s strengths are in converting technical experience to tactical approaches, and communication.

He has worked on projects in both Australia and the United Kingdom, using his expertise to develop systems and processes for numerous organisations. Over the last seven years, he has helped firms understand and implement BIM methodologies, and is passionate about exploiting information management technology to its limits. He acknowledges that despite developments in technology, altering people's behaviour is the most crucial and often difficult part of change.

He has taught hundreds of industry professionals across Australia, and students at both RMIT and Melbourne University. He is a co-author of ANZRS (Australian & New Zealand Revit Standards), steering committee member of BIM-MEPAUS, BIM Management Plans working group chair for the AIA/Consult Australia BIM/IPD initiative and a past chairperson of REVIC (Revit Users Group of Victoria).






Jim Balding – Executive Committee

Jim Balding is a licensed architect with more than 25 years of experience integrating technology into the architectural field. Jim earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has been a member of the Autodesk® Revit® Architecture Client Advisory Board since its inaugural meeting, and served as the Revit Product Chair for AUGI® for five years. He also founded and served as the South Coast Revit Users Group (SCRUG) president for five years. Jim has spoken at several technology conferences and is one of the top-rated speakers at Autodesk University. He has developed a successful Autodesk Revit Architecture implementation strategy that has been adopted by some of the top architectural firms in the world.

Jim has recently launched his own architectural and design technology firm – The ANT Group.






Martin Taurer – Speaker Manager

Born in Austria too long ago to remember, Martin graduated as an Architect from Technical University Graz, Austria in 1987 and practiced in Austria, Germany and Brazil through 1999. At that time he joined Autodesk briefly, then moved to the fledgling Revit Technology Corporation in 2001, before getting reabsorbed by Autodesk with its purchase of Revit the following year. He worked as a product designer and product manager on Revit in multiple geographies including both Japan and Australia, before joining a new technologies based architectural and consulting practice in the Netherlands in 2007, LivingRoomCraftz (www.livingroomcraftz.com). Martin has spoken at numerous conferences including RTC, is an author, blogger, and itinerant Mac fanatic whose deep technical expertise in many of the most complex BIM tools has him in high demand throughout Europe and the rest of the world.






Mark Wieringa – Partnerships Manager

Mark is an architect and is the BIM Manager for the Dutch architecture firm cepezed. He has always been busy with the use of computers in the architectural design process. After graduating from the High Technical School of Amsterdam he worked as a Building Engineer hacking AutoCAD systems to be more efficient and productive. During his studies for an architect at the Technical University Delft he was a student assistant for the department of Technical Design and Information. At the department of Technical Design and Information Mark was working on computational- and blob design and is co-author of a paper on the 3D generation of Ice-rays on a double curved surface. He also modelled in Pro-Engineer the first production twist facade of Karel Vollers for alcoa. Mark also developed a course for teaching master degree students building technology how to make a parametric blob design using Maya and making parametric facade designs using Pro-Engineer. In 2004 he came in contact with Revit, testing it for use in the University curriculum. Mark has been teaching building technology as a guest tutor at the Technical University of Delft and is currently work for the architecture firm cepezed where he focusses on company training, customisations, plug-inn development, and devising effective workflows and practices. He is currently a board member of the Dutch Revit Usergroup (RevitGG) setting the Dutch standards for Revit use. Mark also gives lectures on the use of Revit and how it works in a BIM environment.






Jose Fandos – Marketing Manager

Jose Fandos is the founder and CEO of Andekan, a company dedicated to Revit content creation and management. Since 2008, Jose has led Andekan in providing Revit content services to major AEC firms, manufacturers, and software makers. Prior to founding Andekan, Jose worked as a CAD manager in the UK, where he led his firm's adoption of Revit. He later served as co-founder and CTO of Broutek Ltd., a pioneering start-up in Revit content creation. Jose is considered one of the industry's most knowledgeable Revit content creators, and is a member of the AEC (UK) BIM Standards Committee and the UK Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Breakout Group on Revit Content Standards. Jose lives and works in London, and can usually be found at meetings of the London Revit User Group.
